Dubai Metro: Green Line to be opened in September 2011
After the Red Line already being opened and therefore relieving traffic along the Sheikh Zayed Road, Dubai Authorities announced the opening (of parts) of the Green Line in September 2011 - personally by Sheikh Mohammad al Maktoum. While the Red Line connects Old and New Dubai and stops at sights such as the Burj Khalifa, Mall of the Emirates, Dubai Marina, Ibn Battuta Mall, the Green Line connects the north and south of the Old Town along the creek.

The Formula 1 Grand Prix 2011 in Abu Dhabi is close enough to touch
In March this year, the Formula 1 Season has already started and led to great delight for German fans. Sebastian Vettel, the Grand Prix Champion of 2010, has won the qualifying as well as the race in Melbourne. Therefore, he led the Formula 1 World Championship for the second time in his career. The winning streak of the German driver who has won in Malaysia too could only be stopped in the third race by Lewis Hamilton. Vettel took the second place. Until the end of the season, there are 16 more courses. The last but one race will take place on the 13th of November at 17 o'clock (local time) in Abu Dhabi. The free practice will start on November 11, at 13 o'clock. This course which is 5,554 km long and which has 9 right- and 12 left-handers was used for the first time for a Formula 1 Grand Prix in 2009. The contesters have to drive 55 rounds and therefore they will cover a distance of 305,355 km. The winner 2009 as well as 2010 was Sebastian Vettel. "Kids Go Free in Dubai" - Dubai wants to be more attractive for families
The Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) and their partners in Dubai want to attract more families in summer 2011 with its new campaign "Kids Go Free in Dubai". The campaign will start on the 14th of May and will continue until the 30th of September. There will be discounts for flights and guest-nights as well as free admission to a lot of attractions. Families can already save money for the arrival. Up to two kids under 12 years can fly for half of the price with Emirates if they are accompanied by two adults. Fly Dubai gives a discount of 25 per cent. Contrary to the last campaigns, there will be no limitation of the tickets according to the tourism representative Saleh Mohammed Al Geziry. In over 80 hotels the children who are less than 12 years old can stay for free if they are accompanied by two adults and when they stay more than 3 nights. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are also for free for the kids. The city offers a lot of free admissions for children to attractions like the Dubai Aquarium & Underwater Zoo, the wild wadi water park, the Dubai Museum, the Dolphinarium and to the "Lost Chambers" at Atlantis, The Palm. Free sightseeing tours are also planned.
